Ian Lander is a young jewelry designer who has studied time honored and traditional metal working techniques in the small villages of Costa Rica and Peru. Each of the featured pieces is hand made of sterling silver, often combined with semiprecious stones. His designs have a strong sense of contemporary style while retaining ties to ancient cultures. His work is urban and ethnic, city and country. A native of New York City, Ian's metalsmithing career began under the tutelage of Ecuadorian artist Tarcicio in Monteverde, Costa Rica.
